Saturday : Part 2

Went to watch Dragonforce live at D'Marquee.

I would like to thank Amzar for inviting me of all people to enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity to watch DRAGONFORCE for free. How many times can you watch DRAGONFORCE LIVE for free?

DragonForce is hands down the best live band I've ever seen in Singapore. LIKE, THE BEST. There was lights and smoke and lasers... Good place too. Air-conditioned.

They ROCK. LIKE HELL YEAH ROCK. BLEW MY MIND TO BITS (like ........ did, only that DragonForce needed to do a lot more) Still, they blew my mind to bits. They played Revolution Deathsquad, Warrior Inside, Valley of The Damned, Fury Of The Storm, Operation Ground And Pound, Through The Fire And Flames.... Power ah, man! The speakers sampai tak boleh angkat!(until cannot take it!)

After the first song, I was like, "Dude, this is good shit." Like "wooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh." good. Like, I don't know, man. Like that ah! Yah. Power ah! Herman Li my brother ah! He can solo until tomorrow, man. Sam Totman should be in a mental institution. Sam and Vadim Puzhanov, the keyboardist. They are both crazy.

The vocal performance by ZP Theart was great! Wide range octave wise and pitch wise, he reminds me of Dio. He's got this cool fan thing on stage which makes his hair fly all over when he's standing near it. Cool la sey! Must buy that fan thing somehow.

The drummer, Dave Mackintosh, was good. He's like never tired like that. Like can double pedal until tomorrow. He did not get much of the spotlight but he's darn good, man. Best live drums I've heard so far. He knows how to control his volume for one thing and blends nicely with the band.

Vadim is a crazy fella and he's crazy good too. Arguably the most energetic of the lot. He's got this machine, I've never seen it before the concert. It makes scratching noises when you put your hands over it. Super cool shit, man. I think it's called a theremin. He was jumping and kicking everywhere. He can keyboard with his tongue!!!

Frederic Leclercq is the bassist. He looks like a member of Iron Maiden. I can't remember the name. His bass guitar is very nice la sey. He also played a Gibson Les Paul guitar during a showcase with Vadim and he's bloody good too.

Sam Totman uses really cool guitars. Ibanez Iceman. 1 white, 1 black. He's also loco. Kept drinking throughout the show. I'm certain he's mabok already. Despite that, he can still play the songs perfectly. He's playing these super duper hard riffs while jumping around, kicking out, running around and being drunk at the same time. I don't know how he managed to do that.

Then there's Herman Li. This guy is one of the world's fastest guitarists. Played his own signature model guitar. 2 guitars. Purple and white. The white one kept failing and he had to change back to the purple one during a song. While not as hyper as Sam, this guy can solo until next week, man. He plays with his tongue too! Oh yeah, he also throws around his guitar. Whammy bar king, man this guy. Wiiiiiiiiiuuuuuuuuu!

DragonForce ROCKS! (not as much as ........, but they still rock!) I mean, I'll pick them over bloody Sum41 any day, man. Great show. It's a mind blowing experience. Blew my mind to bits(Just like ........) Makes you want to pick up the guitar, man. I need strings! Yamaha, open up already!!!

Through the fire and the flames we'll carry on!
